The Challenge

Businesses and users needed to build their own native mobile apps without needing to write code. The challenge was to deliver the customization they needed — stores, booking, channels, calls and other modules — in the most reusable, scalable, and robust way possible.

Approach

• Modular design — designed and developed reusable, configurable modules (stores, booking, channels, and calls) that could be dropped into any app built on the platform.
• Flexibility with consistency — balanced adapting to a wide range of business use cases with staying stable and predictable across many live apps.
• Cross-functional prioritization — partnered closely with product and design to prioritize the modules and features that unlocked the most customization value for end customers.
• Performance & stability — drove parallel improvements addressing the friction and bugs most responsible for negative reviews.

Impact

The Challenge

The product had clearly proven its value to users, but it had no sustainable, recurring revenue stream. The objective was to introduce subscriptions in a way that:

• felt like a natural extension of the experience rather than a barrier.
• met the technical and policy requirements of both the App Store and Google Play.
• gave the business a predictable, recurring revenue base to reinvest in the product.
The central tension throughout: maximize conversion and willingness to pay while protecting the trust and habits users had already built.

Discovery & Research

The work began with research — understanding which monetization options fit the product and confirming that subscriptions were technically viable across both platforms.

• Product research (R&D) — evaluated subscription and in-app purchase models to define the optimal monetization approach for the product.
• Market & competitive research — studied subscription patterns, pricing structures, and free-vs-premium boundaries across comparable health and fitness products.
• Technical feasibility — assessed in-app purchase implementation across both platforms (StoreKit on iOS, Google Play Billing on Android), including entitlement validation, purchase restoration, and cross-platform parity.

Solution & Execution

With the strategy defined, the focus shifted to execution. Led the end-to-end implementation of in-app purchases across iOS and Android — building and validating the full purchase, restoration, and entitlement flows on both platforms to deliver a reliable, consistent subscription experience — while collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, and analytics throughout build and launch.

The product needed clearer visibility into user behavior to drive decisions — but only if tracking mapped to the right questions, fired accurately, and stayed trustworthy. Gaps and data-quality issues risked turning analytics into noise rather than insight.

Defining what to track

Working with product and analytics teams, the first step was translating product needs into a clear analytics plan.

• Shaped analytics scenarios around the questions the product team needed answered.
• Translated product requirements into concrete, actionable tracking events.
• Mapped events to key user journeys and feature touchpoints so coverage matched what mattered most.

Impact

The Challenge

Blind and visually impaired people needed a way to sense and identify what's in front of them without relying on a companion or overloading a sense like hearing that's already essential for communication and navigation. The challenge was to find a way to deliver visual information to the brain through an underused channel.

Approach

• Discovery & market research — studied existing assistive technologies to understand their limits and find an underserved approach.
• Idea validation — landed on the lower back as an underused, high-surface-area channel for sensory substitution, avoiding interference with hearing or hands.
• Prototyping — built a wearable vest with a grid of vibration motors, paired with a camera and a computer vision pipeline (semantic segmentation and edge detection) to map what the camera sees onto vibration patterns on the wearer's back.
• Testing & validation — ran structured experiments with volunteers to see whether the vest could teach people to recognize shapes and numbers through touch alone.
